I
My neck cranes
while looking at Dilli
बड़ी- बड़ी इमारतें –
often they say
these are fragile buildings
in need of gilding
like fragile egos
of those that these buildings
make in(cognito)
II
Sometimes I wonder
what does a कबूतर
chilling atop the संसद भवन
coos to the बंदर
running across the राजपथ
“You’re called monkey-
but who’s doing मन की?”
III
History is a dementia
that lives in between
demolition and construction.
At times,
it becomes difficult,
to tell a building
from a narrative.
