Playtime

As a child, he was a finger painting Picasso,
Some days he would leave mirror marks on wet glass,
finger writing on steam.
Words appeared
or a happy face, a heart, even a small hillock
or sometimes even a house with smoke
coming out of the chimney,
A kind of communion of the lonely…
Even when he spilt milk
He looked to see if the pattern spelt anything,
Ghosts from the past
or windows to the future,
all arrows shot into time
Just to steal some extra moments of precious playtime!
