Chhattisgarh: After Survey Finds Proxies, Photos of Teachers To Be Pasted on School Walls

New Delhi: After a surprise inspection found several proxies working in place of government-employed teachers, the Chhattisgarh school education department has decided to paste photographs and names of teachers on the walls of school buildings.

At a surprise inspection of schools started this month, it was found that the teachers appointed there have posted another person in their place to go to school, Dainik Bhaskar reported. Therefore, the education department decided to paste photos of teachers on the walls of schools to “boost their morale” and appreciate their work.

It has also asked the school authorities to verify all details of the teachers appointed in schools and check their documents.

Narendra Dugga, managing director of ‘Samagra Shiksha’ under the school education department, has instructed all the district education officers to take action on this matter within 10 days, the report said.

‘Samagra Shiksha’ is a centrally sponsored scheme that involves a 60:40 split in funding between the Union government and most states. It was launched by the Ministry of Education in 2018.

The new academic session of schools in Chhattisgarh started on June 15.
