Stan Can See Me

Stan called me from the clouds;
with a gentle smile, he waved.
His eyes passed a gaze of a baton,
to a field ready for harvest.

People of valour never die,
their stories are birthing warriors;
of strength and love to override
lies, post-truths and conspiracies.

A silent priest he was, said many.
The silence was his weapon;
that shook the dreams of robbers–
yes, the robbers of our destiny.

The Bible too has a verse for you,
Jesus had once spoken of you.
‘Blessed are they which are persecuted
for righteousness’ sake: for
theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’

Stan, history will absolve you,
revere you and hold you in the highest regard.
How could history forget,
the one who toiled to protect it?
