He will never say,
He doesn’t love you.
Rather he will say,
He loves you, BUT…
In this ‘but’, he builds his world.
His apologia for not caring
For neglecting you
For rejecting you slowly, bit by bit
For burying your confidence in the darkness
For pushing you to believe
You’re at fault
In his, ‘But’ lies all.
He never leaves you
But he leaves you every day
And you for the rest of your life
will fumble in every relationship.
You will lose it all.
