Every now and then,
The gushing wave of doom
Ravaging the face of the earth —
Devouring the dynamic and dormant,
Melting into a mass of ruin
The numerous and the potent alike.
In the dread of this cast-down,
There is light passing through an ominous window of destiny
And cultivating a sense of hope
In the lump of life.
The fright of being torn into dregs,
The hope of life causing the Sun
Afire many hearts for Mahakaal —
The knowledge of Him as the Lord of death
In the unhinged domain of time and
The cosmologically ordained order of the landscape.
The invocation of Mahakaal
In varied graphic representations
Of cosmic dance of destruction and creation
In furious joy,
Rambling on the vigour of speeding motor vehicles in relentless directions
In the midst of the dread of doubts
Nurtured by the impels of climatic uncertainties,
Owing to altering gyrations of earth’s actions,
And upsetting the face of modernity,
Leaving waiting for those failed by it,
Living and non-living,
And forging the unity of elements in the landscape
Being visited by Mahakaal.
