Escapism

Knocking from door to door in search
of life’s grain,
with a hope to find joy in the human
den.
Looking for truth in the world so feign,
tired of dealing with a robotic brain.
Here I am, seeking escapism through my
imagination lane.

Wandering in search of peace fane,
With the cacophony of fears playing in
my mind like a refrain.
Sloping deeper and deeper into the
darker reign,
parched for individuality and trying to
cut off life’s bane,
here I am, seeking escapism through my
imagination lane.

Seeing the hope of good days run away
from this side of the window pane.
With the brain buffering thoughts of my
past stain,
recalling the dark retrospect
and stuck in my present so wane.
Exhausted of feeling inferior among
the rat-racing constrain,
here I am, seeking escapism through my
imagination lane.

Wearing a smile that disguises the pain,
with a heart that still holds power to bear
the rain.
Consoling the mind that’s yet sane,
lost in the woods of mirage that knows
no gain,
here I am, seeking escapism through my
imagination lane.
