Society teaches us to be brave,
chanting the analogies of all who fought to the grave.
The sagas of heroes who drank their tears,
camouflaged all fears,
endured the cold,
and fought against all odds.
Society keeps an account of wars,
as an emblem of valour.
Tales to pass on to generations to arrive
that they have to strive.
To live is to fight, howsoever the plight.
But society teaches us all wrong
desperate reasons to be strong.
To fight is not the only way to live right.
For the bravery may also shine in your crystal tears,
or by revealing those latent fears.
Courage has no shape, size or race,
nor it is a destiny to chase.
So, when this time society chimes
its old bravery rhymes,
tell it now is the time to change.
