It has been over seven decades,
since after multiple decades of burning the candle at both ends,
jumping through hoops, and taking the bull by the horns,
the country was finally on the roll.
We have certainly come a long way,
but are we really on the crest of a wave?
We cannot simply decide to cross the bridge when we come to it.
To make the long story short,
stop barking up the wrong tree,
and don’t wait for the last straw;
we need to bite the bullet, hang in there,
and go back to the drawing board.
They are asleep at the wheel.
A storm in a teacup, beating the dead horse,
and adding insult to injury are their favourite strategies,
so come rain or shine, hit the nail on the head.
You will be on a wild goose chase if you put all your eggs in one basket.
Understand the crux of the problem,
beat your brain around it, and address the elephant in the room.
It’s natural to feel at your wits’ end;
because everything seems to be a Catch-22 with no end in sight,
and forgetting the Constitution has put us in dire straits.
But every cloud has a silver lining, and a stitch in the time saves nine!
Keep your chin up, and know there is light at the end of the tunnel.
The ball is in your court;
either continue thinking that there are other fish in the sea,
weather the storm, and eventually go down in flames,
or keep on the straight and narrow,
know which way the wind is blowing
and what to put on the back burner, step up to the plate,
and light the fire under others to push the envelope with you.
While it may not be easy to wipe the slate clean,
we can always start from scratch.
A little goes a long way. There will be a snowball effect.
All we have to do is brush up on the Preamble;
it’s a treasure trove of reminders!
